A. Sign in with a passkey
Use your fingerprint, face, or device PIN to log in — no password needed.
📱 Mobile app only — iOS & Android
What is a passkey?
A passkey lets you sign in to TransferGo the same way you unlock your phone — with your fingerprint, face ID, or device PIN. Your biometric data never leaves your device; your phone confirms it's you, then signs you in automatically.
The passkey is saved in your device's password manager (Google on Android, Apple on iPhone). If that manager syncs across devices, the same passkey works on your other phones or tablets, too.
Note: Passkeys work alongside your existing login methods. You can still sign in with your phone number and passcode at any time.
B. How to set up a passkey
Before you start
Make sure you have the latest version of the TransferGo app and that your device has a screen lock enabled (fingerprint, face unlock, or PIN). You may be asked for your TransferGo passcode during setup to confirm your identity.
Steps
- Open Settings in the TransferGo app.
- Go to Privacy & security → Login & passcode.
- Tap Log in with passkey.
- Follow the on-screen steps, then confirm with your fingerprint, face unlock, or device PIN when prompted.
- Enter your TransferGo passcode if asked.
Once setup is complete, the passkey option will appear on the login screen the next time you sign in.
C. How to sign in with a passkey
- Open the TransferGo app to the login screen.
- Tap Continue with a passkey.
- Confirm with your fingerprint, face unlock, or device PIN.
If your password manager has synced the passkey to a new phone, you can sign in straight away without setting it up again.
D. How to view or remove a passkey
- Go to Settings → Privacy & security → Login & passcode → Log in with passkey.
- Review the passkey linked to your account.
- To remove it, use the delete option and confirm.
After removing a passkey, you can still sign in with your phone number and passcode. To use passkeys again, tap Add passkey on the same screen.
Phone still offering an old passkey? Removing it in the TransferGo app stops it working for our service, but your device's password manager may still have an old entry. Delete the outdated TransferGo passkey from your password manager as well.
E. Passkeys not working?
"Incorrect credentials" message
The passkey on your phone may not match your TransferGo account. Dismiss the message, sign in with your phone number and passcode, then go to Settings → Privacy & security → Login & passcode → Log in with passkey to remove the old passkey and add a new one.
App asks for your TransferGo passcode after the passkey
This is normal in some situations. Simply enter your 4-digit passcode to continue.
Passkey option not visible
Update the app from the App Store or Google Play. If it still doesn't appear, sign in the usual way and check your passkey under Settings → Privacy & security → Login & passcode.
Passkey doesn't work on a new phone
Make sure your new phone is signed into the same password manager account (same Google or Apple account) you used when you created the passkey, and that sync is turned on.
Still stuck? Contact us and let us know whether you're on iPhone, iPad, or Android, and whether the issue is setting up a passkey or signing in with one, plus any error message you see on screen.
F. Frequently asked questions
Can I use passkeys on the TransferGo website?
No. Passkeys are only available in the TransferGo mobile app (iOS and Android) at this time.
Do I still need my phone number?
Yes, for many account actions. A passkey speeds up sign-in but doesn't replace your phone number.
Can I use my passkey on a new phone?
Often yes — if your new phone uses the same password manager account with sync turned on. If not, sign in with your phone number and passcode, then add a passkey again from Settings.
Is a passkey the same as Biometric login in Settings?
No. Biometric login is for quick access when you're already signed in. Passkeys are used on the login screen to sign in from scratch.
I lost my phone — what should I do?
Sign in on any device with your phone number and passcode, then remove the passkey from your TransferGo account under Settings. Consider changing your passcode if you're concerned about unauthorised access.
