Will receiver see my name as the sender when they receive a transfer?

It depends on which country you're sending to, and on which of our partner banks delivers the money to your receiver's bank.

  • Most of the time, the payment arrives showing TransferGo or the name of our banking partner in that country.
  • Sometimes it shows your name instead.

💡 We always add your name to the payment reference, so the person you're paying can see it's from you. Just before you pay, it's there in the Reference message field as Sent from [your name]. It's optional, so you can change it or clear it.

Good to know

  • Banks use different reference field lengths, so your name can arrive shortened or cut off on the receiver's statement. That's the bank trimming it, not something missing from your transfer.
  • If the person you're paying isn't sure where the money came from, tell them the amount and the date you sent it. Their bank can usually match it up from that.
